WASHINGTON: The United States on Monday blamed Syria for mass executions and consuming of bodies in a crematorium worked inside a jail complex - charges, that assuming genuine, are reminiscent of strategies utilized as a part of Nazi Germany amid World War II.
Columnists were given satellite pictures purportedly indicating snow softening on the top of the jail office with extra structures said to be a recently manufactured crematorium, to back the cases of mass executions of up to 50 individuals a day.
''Starting in 2013, the Syrian administration changed a working inside the Saydnaya complex to bolster what we accept is a crematorium," acting associate secretary for the State Department Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Stuart Jones told correspondents, alluding to a military correctional facility north of Damascus.
''Despite the fact that the administration's numerous outrages are very much recorded, we trust that the working of a crematorium is a push to conceal the degree of the mass killings occurring in Saydnaya,'' he included.
