प्रधानमंत्री ने सवाल उठाया था कि नोटबंदी के दौरान कोई तो होगा, जिसने इन कंपनियों को कालेधन को सफेद करने में मदद की होगी। उनको पहचानने और किनारे करने की जरूरत है। उन्होंने गड़बडि़यों में शामिल सीए के खिलाफ आईसीएआई की कार्रवाई पर भी सवाल उठाया था। उन्होंने कहा था कि पिछले 11 साल में सिर्फ 25 सीए के खिलाफ कार्रवाई हुई है, जबकि 1400 से ज्यादा मामले सालों से लंबित पड़े हैं। उन्होंने उम्मीद जताई कि आईसीएआई दोषियों के खिलाफ कठोर कदम उठाकर उन्हें सजा देगा। आईसीएआई की ताजा कार्रवाई को इसी से जो़ड़कर देखा जा रहा है।

New Delhi: Describing China as a "bigger threat to India than Pakistan", Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday asked the government to respond on the military standoff at Doklam.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha against the backdrop of tension between New Delhi and Beijing, the former defence minister claimed that China was ready to attack India in collaboration with Pakistan.

It was India's responsibility to protect Bhutan and China was eyeing Nepal, he said.

He also spoke against massive amounts of Chinese goods finding a market in India.

"If China continues to help Pakistan and interferes in Kashmir, India should ban Chinese products. If need be, we should have a rethink on diplomatic relations," Yadav said.

He also demanded a complete review of India`s relations with China.

The stand-off between the armies of India and China in the Doklam plateau in the Sikkim sector has led to a strain in diplomatic ties, with the Chinese state-run media openly talking of war.

The government last week briefed the leaders of political parties and assured them that the issue will be resolved diplomatically.

IMD predicts heavy showers in Mumbai, Konkan in next two days

Mumbai: While some districts in Maharashtra have received less than average rainfall so far in this monsoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today predicted heavy showers in coastal areas, including Mumbai, over the next two days.

As per the IMD forecast issued today, few places in Konkan, Goa and parts of Madhya Maharashtra would get heavy rainfall for the next two days.

Few places in Mumbai would also get heavy showers in next 48 hours from tomorrow morning, it said.

On the other hand, districts like Kolhapur (-62.5mm), Ratnagiri (-28.2mm), Satara (-95.7mm), Sangli (-62.3mm) and Panjim (-64.1mm) have received less rainfall, the database updated today said.

Madhya Maharashtra received normal showers in the last 24 hours. Chopda in Jalgaon district in north Maharashtra received 40 mm rainfall, while Nashik, Hingoli and neighbouring districts received rainfall in between 10 to 20 mm in last 24 hours, it said.

The catchment areas of major dams like Koyna, which alone generates more than 2,000 MW power for the state, has been receiving good showers. The rainfall recorded in the region was more than 200 mm in the last couple of days.
